I have a feeling you will all remember Audrey from Texas.  Audrey and her three puppies happened to wander up to a nice woman’s home, covered in fleas, and were taken in.  That was the summer of 2021.  We are certain this good samaritan saved Audrey’s life that day, because this poor momma was in need of food, water, medical care, and a soft place to lay her head.  Audrey was heartworm positive with heartworms that were so bad that she had to stay at the vet clinic for several days after each heartworm injection.  Our Audrey girl was so sweet, and spunky and had that JRT fighting spirit though, and she overcame many obstacles and now has a clean bill of health.  

Audrey and all three puppies found wonderful forever homes.  Audrey’s mom sent us this video of her hanging out recently.  Audrey is doing great!  And she now goes by Magnolia!  From streets and shelters, to laps and couches…that’s what rescue is all about!  Happy Tails, Magnolia!

Angie came to Russell Rescue, Inc. in June of last year.  We rescued her from a shelter in Houston, Texas.  She has found a wonderful family where she is loved and spoiled, like she should be!  Happy Tails Angie!!

This handsome boy was found wandering around on the streets of the San Antonio, Texas area.  No owner could be found.  Bogie entered foster care with Russell Rescue, Inc. and found his forever home last November.  As you can see from the photos, he has found a lap, loves his toys and best of all…he is Home Sweet Home!  Happy Tails Bogie! 

Have you ever seen two more amazing smiles?  This handsome boy is Gary. He is now called Skippy.  He came to Russell Rescue at the end of the summer in 2022.  We got him from a shelter.  He settled into his foster home and by the fall had found his forever home!  Just look at that smile!  He is Home Sweet Home!  Happy Tails Skippy! 

You may remember this cute guy!  This is Finn.  He came to us this summer and was fostered in Houston, Texas.  Finn was adopted and is having the time of his life in his forever home!  Here’s what his mom had to say about him:

“He’s doing really well, I can tell he feels very comfortable in our house now.  Initially he was more quiet but now he’s gotten pretty vocal and is making all kinds of sounds at us if he wants pets or food.  He’s very sassy!  We are also investing in more childproofing latches and probably soon a dog proof trash can; at first he only got into some things (sock drawer) but now he gets into EVERYTHING.  Clever boy! He is my most stubborn dog ever, training is coming along very slowly but we are making slow and steady progress.  He is so sweet and loving, just the best boy.”

Finn loves to help his mom work during the day…you can see from the pics that he’s laying down on the job!  You can also see a pic of him pouting when he was denied access to his favorite thing…the trash can!  Finn enjoys the beach also.  Right after this photo was taken he dove in and caught a baby hammerhead!  Only a JRT!  Happy Tails Finn!  Try to stay out of trouble! 

This fuzzy wuzzy is Lucy!  Her owner could no longer care for her, so she joined the Russell Rescue, Inc. family in June of this year.  Lucy was a popular girl!  No one can resist that fuzzy face!  She found a wonderful home and was adopted in July.  Lucy has settled in well and is loving life!!  Happy Tails Lucy! 

Jacklyn joined the Russell Rescue, Inc. family in June of this summer.  She came to us when her owner could no longer care for her.  Jacklyn was quickly adopted and is loving her forever home.  She absolutely loves squirrel duty from her favorite window.  And Amazon will never sneak up on her house!  Happy Tails Jacklyn! 

You will probably remember this senior girl.  Her name is Shadow.  She came to Russell Rescue this summer when her owner passed away.  Shadow had been loved on and cared for her entire life.  Shadow was understandably confused and sad when she came to Russell Rescue.  But she is doing amazing in her forever home now!  Shadow found a great home recently and her mom shared some pics and updates on how she’s doing.  She is loved and spoiled and has settled in very well.  She even has a buddy to keep her company.  Happy Tails Shadow!   

Hutch (now known as Monty) – Happy Tails Update!  Monty loves the pool!  As Erica (his human Mom stated) he swims like a seal.  He is a great swimmer.  Everything is fun and games for Monty.  Monty jumps in the pool with the family.  He gets the ball or toy and swims over to Tula (his sister/best friend) and brings her the ball.  Tula does not like getting into the pool.  Monty then gets out and does it again or sits on the step.  He is very busy this summer.  His humans have had multiple visitors and he has loved the attention…from long walks to extra cuddles.  He cannot wait until his big human brother Neil gets home from work so they can play chase.  Tula and Monty have another game.  She drops the ball from the landing, he gets it and brings it up the stairs and goes back down and they start all over again!
