Old Miss - 24 hours into Rescue Care
Hello, hello hello!! It's me, Old Miss, aka Granny Goose, from the great state of TEXAS!! How is everyone doing? I am so fine! Dr. Justin Bruenig, of Crossroads Vet Hospital, finally OK'd me for dental surgery. Finally! It took a long time because Dr. J, said he didn't want to compromise my health in any way, with me going "under" (under what?) and having surgery. He scraped off lots of icky grey stuff like old cement and pulled three teeth (ow) but left me plenty to eat with. He gave my old teeth back in a little baggy…eeeeuuuwww! Mom was so happy when I got home she cooked me eggs with chicken and rice or dinner. ( Yummm, maybe I should get teeth pulled more often. )

My coat is grown in and not so soft anymore; Mom says it looks more like real Jack Russell hair, with a short undercoat and long outer layer. I finally got my color back, too. I have real brown spots, not faded tan spots. I am now healthy and whole. The only lingering effect of that "Other Place" is my skin. I have tiny little brown freckles, on my skin, which are actually ground in dirt . Doc says those little specks will probably just wear out in a few more months. I will be on Thyroid pills for the rest of my like, but that is the only meds I have to take. Doctor J. says I am now healthy enough to go to playdays and trials, if I want.

My Mom says ALL OF YOU are the reason I am living; you are the reason I'm still here. Lots of my buddies didn't make it out of the seizure last summer. My mom loves me; and she says the little words "Thank you" will never be enough to express her gratitude for all the help and support you gave. If I could get on a plane and come lick every single one of you, I would do it.

Missy continues to live the good life at Rescue Ranch. She is such a sweetheart; a funny and delightful girl who lives up to the reputation of a JACK RUSSELL TERRIER.
